Why an incapacity protocol
Sometimes the account holder is alive but unable to operate the service due to legal incapacity, severe cognitive decline, or coma. The default release model (death) does not apply in those situations. We have a separate path.
Requirements
- Official documentation of incapacity (judicial declaration, medical report from a qualified facility, designated guardian).
- Identification of the legal representative or guardian.
- Specific request scope (full access vs. partial information).
Procedure
Similar to the death verification flow with stricter checks because the account holder may regain capacity. Limited-time releases are preferred. Full account transfer is exceptional and requires court-issued documentation.
